About Me

My name is Steve Lemieux. In 2003, I began taking lessons with John Ryan: a former sergeant in the U.S. Air Force Pipe Band. I had regular lessons with John until he passed away. In 2018, after a long hiatus, I began playing again and registered for solo competition — receiving two mid-season upgrades. On a judge's advice, I joined a local pipe band and sought out a new teacher. I currently play with Claddagh Mhor Pipe Band of Portland, Maine and am Pipe Major of the Maine State Police Pipe & Drum Unit. I also compete as a Grade I soloist.
